Table of content
Homepage Content Options
The homepage of a site is a really important page. This is usually the most visited page and it’s this page that will hook your visitors by offering them various navigation possibilities.
Display a carousel for featured videos
The carousel allows you to highlight certain videos that you consider to be “featured”:
How to add videos to the carousel
It also brings a dynamic element to your site.
Set the number of videos displayed in the carousel. Display titles as captions over each thumb of the carousel and enable or not the autoplay (the carousel will scroll automatically).
Show carousel on mobile
The carousel is mobile ready (swipe) but you can choose to disable it only on mobile if you want.
Sidebar on homepage
This option allows you to display or not the sidebar on your homepage only if you want this page to have a different structure than the others. Some prefer to have a full width homepage and use a sidebar only on video pages.
Add a title and description for SEO
Add a title (H1) and a description on your homepage to improve SEO. By default, there is no h1 tag on the home page, which is why we have added this option which is very important for Google SEO.
Title and description position
This option allows you to choose the position of the title and description block on your homepage. We recommend displaying this at the top of your site for natural reading by Google robots (H1 then H2 etc.).
Video blocks on homepage
By default, homepage displays video listing like any other archive pages. But this is possible to use different video blocks with RetroTube. For example a block of the longest videos, another block of the recently added videos, etc. You can also display advertising between each blocks. This option will redirect you in the widgets section of your site.

Display tracking button
This option allows you to display or not a tracking button under the video player. The link of this button is set in the Video Information metabox directly in the video post edition: Add a tracking link
Tracking button settings
- Choose an icon
- Set a unique URL for all tracking buttons
- Set the button text
In general, each tracking link is different and is configured in the Video Information metabox for each video post. But it can be useful in certain cases to be able to put the same URL for every buttons. For example if you are working with a single sponsor, you can set a single affiliate link that will apply to all buttons.
Here’s the result on the frontend:
This option allows you to display what element you want about the video:
- Publish date
Truncate video description
Change the name of the label for actors, for example “pornstars”.
Choose what social network you want to enable for video sharing.
Display related videos
Related videos are videos that are categorized in the same category than the current video. There are displayed randomly. You can replace this section by what you want with a widget: Under the video widget area
Related videos number
Categories content options
Number of categories per page
This option allows you to display the number of categories you want to display on the illustrated categories page. Example: https://demo.wp-script.com/rtt-adult/categories/
Categories thumbnail quality
Set the main thumb quality of category thumbnails, you have 3 choices.
What thumb quality to choose?
- Basic (High compression)
Choose this option if you favor speed over beauty. A very compressed image will be lighter to load and therefore your site will be faster.
- Normal Recommended
Set by default, this parameter is a good compromise between beauty and speed. The medium compression is not noticeable, the image quality remains correct and its weight is lightened.
- Fine (Low compression)
Choose this option if you favor beauty over speed. A low compressed image will take longer to load but will have HD quality. Use if you have a powerful server.
